Sunday BCC XI v Audley
The first day of the season proved to be a sunny day, but windy outing. Jay Sims lost the toss, and Audley asked BCC to bat first, on what looked to be a typical early wicket, a little soft with a fair covering of grass on it.
With a steady start Karl Cockerton and Venkat Narasimhareddy took us to a respection first 10 over with the lose of Karl for 48/1.
Venkat contiuned with a good 33, and then the outstanding parternship of the innings with the Captain Jay Sims 51* and Phil Robbins 31 to push BCC to 171/6 declared after 39 overs.
Looking to push on for a good win, unfortunately the opening bowlers of Ryan McIntyre and Phil Robbins didn't hit the area's they would have liked and a double chnage with Josh Lias and Jay Sims was made.
This reaped the rewards, as Josh Lias had a few chances put down, but applied pressure and a lack of scoring opportunities whilst Jay Sims displaying some attacking bowling; on what can only be described as a slow wicket, with some 2 length bowling - bouncer or full.
Then introduced was Andrew Durose, and working in synch with Josh Lias the final few wickets were taken for a successful first win for the Sunday XI.
